Family Driven Faith: Doing What It Takes to Raise Sons and Daughters Who Walk with God
Family Driven Faith by Voddie Baucham, Jr. is the instruction manual for those who have asked, “How do we return evangelism and discipleship to the home where it belongs?” If you are looking for typical, pop-psychological answers to the pressing questions of our day, this is not the book for you. The stakes are too high to rely on man’s failed systems. We must get back to the basics and trust the Lord to turn the tide as we follow his clear instructions. Family Driven Faith is a must read for parents, grandparents, pastors and anyone with a passion to stop the mass exodus of the children of evangelicals.

Family Driven Faith by Voddie Baucham is an urgent call to parents to return to biblical discipleship in the home. The statistics are staggering—“It is estimated that as many as 70-88% of teens who profess Christianity walk away from the faith by the end of their freshmen year of college.” In his book Baucham gives some practical, yet convicting tips for teaching children Biblical principles at home. Through scripture & his own experiences, Baucham models how to follow the plans laid out in scripture such as in Deuteronomy 6, rather than following plans that the world may offer. This book has reinforced my belief that it is both an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to raise my children in the “nurture and admonition of the Lord”. It has also become evident to me that many of us have lost our zeal for what an exciting adventure raising a child can be. Over the past few decades it seems to have been ingrained in us to “go with the flow” or that status quo is worthy of striving for. Yet, I believe we are not to just survive, but excel in our role as Godly parents. For this reason, I believe every Christian parent should read this book. Let us pray for God to open our hearts and minds to something maybe a little different than what we may be accustomed to reading. --Sunny Daniels
